Abstract:

This talk covers the topics listed as followed: origins of the new round of technological revolution, industrial transformation, the Industrial Internet, and their connections. Rare opportunities and enormous challenges coming with development of the Industrial Internet are summarized. Finally, a reference model and hierarchical structure of the Industrial Internet are proposed, countermeasures and solutions for challengeds involved are also presented.

About the Speaker:

Dr. Wang Xingwei, professor, PhD supervisor, has received numerous honors such as the National Outstanding Youth Science Fund, the Special Government Allowance, and the New Century Excellent Talents award from the Ministry of Education. He is also an Outstanding Science and Technology Scholar in Liaoning Province, a special professor under the Xingliao Plan, an outstanding teacher in Liaoning Province, and a recipient of the May 1st Labor Medal in Shenyang. He is a member of the National Engineering Graduate Education Steering Committee, the vice chairman of the Network and Data Communication Committee and the Internet Committee of the China Computer Federation, a fellow of the China Institute of Communications, a member of the Fellow Selection Committee, and a member of the CERNET Expert Committee of the China Education and Research Computer Network. He is also the deputy director of the Internet Association of Liaoning Province and an editorial board member of several academic journals such as the Journal of Computer Science and Technology, the Journal of Software, the Journal of Computer Research and Development, and the Journal of Electronics. He is a highly cited researcher in China by Elsevier. He is currently the director of the Key Laboratory of Intelligent Internet Theory and Application in Liaoning Province, the leader of the Liaoning Provincial Innovative Team, as well as the Vice President of Northeastern University. He has won the national scientific and technological advancement medal (2nd, 2 times), scientific and technological progress award from the Ministry of Education (1st, 2 times), one first prize for science and technology from the China Computer Federation, science and technology advancement medal from the China Institute of Communications (1st, 1 time), technical invention from the Ministry of Education (2nd, 1 time), technical invention award from Liaoning Province (2nd, 1 time), and technical invention award natural science from Hunan Province (2nd, 1 time). He has published more than 100 papers in well-known academic journals such as IEEE Trans and over 100 papers have been indexed by SCI. He has authored 9 academic books and obtained 27 national invention patents. He has received over 20 national and provincial-level awards for talent cultivation. He has held various positions in Northeastern University, including Executive Vice Dean of the Graduate School, Secretary-General of the Academic Committee, Dean of the National Demonstrative Software College, Director of the Development Planning and Discipline Construction Office, Director of the 985 Project Office, Director of the 211 Project Office, Director of the Higher Education Research Institute, Director of the Computer Center, and Director of the Network Center.
