On October 17, 2020, taking the opportunity of celebrating the 40th anniversary of the establishment of the Shenzhen Special Economic Zone, the Party School of Physics and Optoelectronic Engineering organized 70 party activists to carry out the theme party day activities of "Welcome the Special Zone for 40 Years, Reform and Opening Up". 

Under the leadership of Lin Jilin, deputy secretary of the Party Committee of the college, and teachers Zhang Zhaorong, Yang Yinmei, Chen Qiuyi and Zhang Peng, the students visited Shenzhen Party History Museum, Fangzhi Museum and Ping An Finance Building. This event is organized  activists of the college to join the party. The purpose is to let the students learn the party's theoretical knowledge, improve the party spirit, and actively move closer to the party organization to become the party's solid reserve force and new force.
