The research and manufacturing team of high purity germanium materials and detectors is led by Professor Sun Huibin. The core mission objective is to develop and build the "platform for the preparation of high purity germanium single crystal and the development of high purity germanium detector", and to focus on key technologies such as purification of high purity germanium materials and single crystal drawing. At present, the ultra-clean laboratory of 200 square meters has been established, equipped with X-ray crystal orientation instrument, deep level measuring equipment, low temperature Hall measuring instrument and other equipment, and self-designed core equipment such as single crystal furnace, zone furnace, creating good conditions for the research work. The research group owns 1 invention patent and 5 utility model patents related to high purity germanium single crystal, which is the only intellectual property right related to the preparation of high purity germanium single crystal in China. At present, the laboratory undertakes one national key research and development program project, two national natural science foundation projects, two natural science foundation projects of Guangdong province.
